Texthopper school edition launch

Texthopper is a web based group messaging productivity tool, developed by Sirma mobile. Initially we were looking for a solution, which had to be in favor of the communication between schools, students and parents. We figured this is important for the positive society environment we all inhabit and decided to contribute the best way we can.

Within time Texthopper possibilities inspired us to develop a platform, successfully applicable for a variety of use cases. However, we didn’t lose our focus on Texthopper School Edition.
Texthopper School Edition enables the opening of a new communication channel between teachers, student and parents. Notifications about school events and meetings, emergency situations, test evaluations and all else, concerning the process of effective education, are easy to be broadcasted.

Working with Texthopper school edition means to be able to:
• Broadcasttext messages fast
• Organize contacts clever
• Focus your campaigns: target the recipients precisely
• Get everything done in few clicks

On 6th of November the school edition of the web based group messaging productivity tool was presented on a Bulgarian national educational conference. More than 100 schools were introduced to the possibilities of the communication solution. Many of them got inspired with the option to communicate more efficiently with students and parents and decided to implement the pilot version of Texthopper School Edition.
The pilot of Texthopper School edition is already a fact. One of the biggest schools in Sofia has the possibility to communicate with its more than 1600 students and their parents with the efforts of few clicks.

We, at Sirma Mobile, are confident, that Texthopper school edition is applicable for all types of educational institutions – from kindergartens, trough high schools to collages, professional institutes and universities.

Mobile apps make public transport user friendly

Living in a big city has lots of advantages: business, carrier, lifestyle and entertainment opportunities are some of the things, which make the glass half full here. This are the reasons way lots of people make the choice to inhabit it. In the city jungle some of the most important things are to be on time and to get your space -bearings as fast as possible. Public transport should be a helper, but all those stops, bus numbers, combinations between them could be confusing and if a person is in unknown neighborhood the location of the nearest stop is also news.

What about if your mobile phone could just give you all of that information?

Nowadays there are various applications, dedicated to make the usage of public transport easier, faster and cleverer. Some of the apps are based on LBS (Location Based Services).
An example is From Here. Start point for the logic of development of this application is that most of us normally would go to the same places- work; home of friends; favorite bars, dining places, clubs. So what the app does is to steer the user out from the current location, to one of those predefined places, giving the shortest, most convenient and fast way to get there.

An example for NFC based application is KAMO: acronym from the Finnish translation for The Mobile Guide for City Travelers, developed by VTT. The service is based on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Once loaded into the mobile phone, KAMO can be accessed using the phone’s menu. It offers stop-specific timetable information which enables journey planning. Users can follow their route stop by stop during the trip and select an alarm to remind them to get off if the trip is long and they are planning to daydream or take a nap. Paying the fare trough the application is also an option.

These are only two examples of how different technologies could make public transport user friendly.

Recently, here in Sofia, Momchil Karabulev won a prize on MoMo, thanks to his idea how to relieve transportation problems and estimate the usage of public transport in Sofia by mobile services. Who knows – next prize winner could be you, next idea implemented into reality- yours. This means you could literally change the world. Sirma Mobile is here to help.

Stay tuned.

Party buzzer - on the crest of the fun wave

Location Based services for mobile devices are boosting up as we speak, making life of users easier, smarter, better and soon even funnier.

Party buzzer, developed by SirmaMobile is a Location Based Entertainment Searching application, which enables users to surf on crest of the fun wave. Using Party Buzzer means being top informed about party and fun options in the area of current physical presence. Subscribers predefine party – interests: artists, style and type of performances. The created profile is the strainer trough which the party-buzzing is individualized.

Use cases of Party buzzer are various. Here are few:

Let’s say, a young man-surfer makes a trip around the Balkans and is heading towards Bourgas, where Jack Johnson is going to perform the same night – an event the user has no clue about. Few second after he has physically entered Bourgas, he gets a party-buzz, informing him that there is a great party-option tonight.

A couple has its summer – holidays in Rodopa Mountain. There is a jazz fest near Smolian in the night of their arrival in the town. The Party buzzer is going to let them know about the happening, so they could have a choice to join or not.

With a bit of adventurous spirit and some creativity, Party buzzer could become a tour guide for Party vacation. The subscriber just has to have his/her mobile device on and enough energy to move from place to place and join the events he/she is buzzed for.

Sounds like lots of fun, doesn’t it?

Mobile child care is just around the corner

As children start school and spending long hours away from home, equipping them with a mobile phone sounds like a reasonable idea. It is only natural that parents would like to stay updated, what, where, whom with and when the young ones are and do.

Until recently the only shortcut to those answers were mobile phones. Those are not design with kids on mind and therefore are not the perfect solution. High bills, uncontrolled communication, and a lack of certainty in the location of the child are unpleasant side effects, coming along with a mobile phone, introduced into a child’s young life.

Bipper Communications designed a mobile child care solution responding to what bought parents and children needs. It is a patchwork from mybipper.com, BipperSIM, BipperMobile, Zapper.com. Sirma Mobile is proud to be the technology and development partner of this amazing platform.
Basically mobile child care is a solution aimed at parents with young kids, who would be happy to always know where the child is, control whom to and when it communicates and control the range of costs.

It is SIM-based technology and it copes flawless with any operator and communication plan. Trough the internet portal mybipper.com, parents are able to manage contact lists, time-frame of communication and are able to locate the young ones on Google maps.

This is the most advanced solution which enables parents to:

  • track the location of the children.
  • steer a steady course whom they are communicating to and when.
  • control costs.

We realize you are interested when and how you could equip your household with it!
Just keep your eyes peeled on Sirma Mobile and you are going to be the first to know!
